HAVI Virus Series
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Finally Found My Calling
Ever since I was a small child, I used books to escape my troubled life. I always dreamed about writing my own stories, but life has a way of making your dreams seem impossible. Instead of pursuing my dream of writing, I tried to find an less impossible path. I got a degree in Organismic Biology and Biotechnology. Science had always fascinated me, but it didn't seem like the right fit.

The desire to create my own stories has always lived inside me, begging to be let free. It took me thirty years to find the courage, but I finally did it. I wrote my very first novel. I am excited to share these characters and their lives with the world.

Black Tears. They are the tears of the dying and the first symptom of the new plague. The HAVI Virus was sneaky and more contagious than anything the world had ever seen. By the time the tears appear, you’ve already infected everyone around you for at least three days. HAVI devastated the world’s population before anyone knew something was wrong. It didn’t take long for every system to collapse. No more electricity. No more plumbing. No more government. Nothing but what you could create yourself. A perfect recipe for chaos and savagery.
For Paige, it all began in her best friend’s secluded cabin at Granby Lake. Paige was looking forward to a relaxing vacation with her friends. Three days into the vacation, they all wake up in the morning to news of a pandemic. One final message from the President and then the world goes dark. She thought they would be safe so far away from other people and the cities. It didn’t take her long to discover that there is no safe place. Not anymore.

After arriving at Fort McCoy, Paige believes that it will be her new home and the place where she helps to make the cure for the HAVI virus. It doesn't take her long to discover that not everything is as it seems. Not knowing who she can trust, she still leaves the base with a fellow soldier in search of materials that the lab needs to make the cure.

This new mission will challenge her sense of morality and justice. Paige finds herself doing things she never believed herself capable of doing before the plague. With each new death by her hands, her heart grows a little darker and the line between right and wrong begins to blur. By the time she has everything she needs to make the cure, will her heart be as black as those she had to fight to get the cure?
